 What if Hatton Wins?
« Thread Started on Mar 23, 2009, 2:52am »

The way things seem, everything and everybody is set to act based on a Pacquiao win, but what if Ricky comes out on top?

...will we see Hatton vs. Mosley or Hatton vs. Mayweather II?

What will the immediate future look like with a Hatton win?

Hatton has a shot to win it...as does any fighter in any fight. If this were to happen then I would love to see a Mayweather rematch. The reason being if Hatton can get by Manny's speed, he can actually do battle with Mayweather, who is not as fast.

Mosely in my opinion is too powerful plus he has speed, and boxing ability equal to Floyd.

Hatton has a shot to beat Mayweather if he gets by Pacman, but no shot against Mosely.

Clay

PS. I don't think he gets by Pac anyway ;D

If Hatton fights Mayweather again he will get his ASS handed to him again!

If Hatton wins i see him fighting Marquez at 140 and after that fight going for Mayweather again but if he loses i think he retires.

Ricky beating Pac is a nightware for me. Of course it's possible but i've been playing out the PAC/PBF fight in my mind since Maywweather came back out of "retirement" sic

if hatton wins i think he wants PBF in manchester or whereever hatton wants him. then PBF should take on JMM or pac-woman. But if he dosent floyd should do a tune up fight and take on the pfp best and easily reclaim it.

I want to see Pac Mayweather aswell but i just think the hatton pacquiao fight will be alot close than people think. I think Hatton has more of a chance then people are giving him and if he wins no way will mayweather fight pacman

Hatton has already said after Pac it's most likely JMM.

But I expect Pac to take Hatton out spectacularly.

Pacquiao should win, but with a fighter of Hatton's calibre, he's an extremely live underdog...

and for those who want a Hatton/Mayweather rematch...What makes you think that the rematch will go any better for Hatton? In the first couple rounds, Mayweather had trouble with Hatton's awkward style, but then it was all PBF. Mayweather was even beating Hatton at Hatton's own inside game...

I think a Pacquiao win will be better for Boxing because it'll possibly set up a Pacquiao/Mayweather fight and maybe, just maybe, Hatton will get down to taking care of business at 140. There are many, many lively challengers at 140 and if Hatton wants to actually be called Ring Champion (and make it mean something), he needs to start fighting people in his own weight class...

But then again, if Manny wins, he'll be considered the Ring Magazine Jr. Welter Champ, but how likely will he be to fight the best of the 140 weight class?

Ok...Off Topic, but I think what we're seeing here is that Ring Magazine's Titles are garbage and even worse for the sport than the alphabet soup organizations'

What a shake up this would be. If hatton wins then its JMM next then maybe a rematch with Floyd which once again Floyd would win.
If Pacquiao wins Arum will try to match him up with Cotto to keep Cotto happy and stop him from leaving Top Rank. But i dont think manny would want Cotto cos he'l get knocked out so its gona be interesting to see what Arum is gona do.

i have waged BIG that Pacquiao KOs Hatton at odds of 15/8 i just cannot see a Hatton victory but i also bet heavily a number of years back on Holyfield to KO former middleweight James Toney and we all know what happened there.. IMO Hatton cannot handle a southpaw and Pacquiao is a very good southpaw with awesome speed, if Pacquiao uses angles he should have no trouble cutting Hatton to shreds then KOing him around 7-9 rds.. i take Pacquiao to easily beat Floyd who has been inactive from major fights for too long

Bigdaddy hit it on the head ....... Hatton can not handle a southpaw of pacs caliber, just my opinion. I would love to see the Pretty Boy meet and get his ass handed to him by the Pac-Man. But, in the event that Hatton beats Pac-man.....LOL..... I think he should try his hand at Mosely seeing as that Pretty Boy has got his #. IF he makes it past pac-man theres is no way he'll make it past Mosely. Then it's on to 140 or retirement, maybe some chicken or better yet tea commercials.

I just hope that, after this contest, both fighters set about taking on the best fighters from 135 to 140...

Pacquiao has a Marquez rematch, plus fights with guys like Edwin Valero, Joan Guzman or Juan Diaz at 135..

While Pacman and Ricky both have great match-ups available at 140 with the newly arrived Nate Campbell, the winner of Bradley/Holt and a host of other tough Jr. Welters...

It would be a shame to see both fighters just sitting around and jumping weight classes just to find the biggest paydays in otherwise meaningless fights.

Pacquiao can box brilliantly but Pac-mans whole game plan every time he fights is to get his opponent to stand and trade with him something JMM refused to be drawn into and it gave JMM a great chance at beating Pac-man, wheras Hatton will walk straight into the battlefield and get brutalized by Pac-mans incredible two-fisted barrages, i just dont give Hatton a hope
